HISTORY OF UPM

 

The establishment of UPM began since the establishment of the Agricultural School on 21 May 1931 with the aim of providing officers for the Department of Agriculture. On 23 June 1947, the Agricultural School was upgraded to the Malayan Agricultural College. On 31 March 1969, Tun Abdul Razak Hussein announced the establishment of an agricultural university that offers undergraduate study programs. The history of UPM from 1931 to 2011 has shown the transformation of a small agricultural school which is now one of the best Research and Study Universities in Malaysia, which is respected on the international and local stage.
